Why Should HLAA Organize for Advocacy?

• To influence legislation

• To gain a presence in the legislative process

• To get in early on issues before opinions are firm

• To communicate the concerns of HLAA

• To give elected officials a better understanding of HLAA

• To protect HLAA interests

• To have elected officials understand and respect HLAA's point of view

• To motivate legislators to work with and for HLAA

• To get to know legislators and their staffs

• To gain recognition as a proactive political force
